Modern bathroom designs are constantly evolving; there are endless ways to refresh your space with new and innovative ideas. We've put together this article to showcase the latest trends you’ll love to recreate, from small bathroom design ideas to modern bathroom tiles design. It has it all.

To round it all out, we've included a list of our very best display homes that exemplify these trends in bathroom design.

The Very Best Modern Bathroom Ideas

While the bathroom might not be the most viewed part of the home, it is one of the most important and presents an excellent opportunity for some creative interior design. To inspire your next bathroom makeover, we've gathered the latest design trends that your friends and family will never forget.

Statement Tiles

Picking your choice of tiling is your opportunity to play around with different patterns, textures, and accents. In 2023, plain, large format tiles are out, and more and more home designers are opting for custom patterns and colours. You can also turn the walls and floor of your bathroom into a focal point by arranging your tiles into eye-catching horizontal, cross hatch and mosaic, patterns (among many others).

As part of our Gallery Collection, you can choose from a wide and colourful range of tiles with our MyChoice Design Studio. Bring your interior design vision to life and have the freedom to pick from our extensive range of tiling designs and patterns for your bathroom, ensuite and powder room, including floor, shower, vanity splashback and skirting.

Softer, Natural Colours

We all picture the sheer white-on-white walls, floor, and everything in between, but in 2023, the spectrum of colour is trending more towards natural, earthy tones. Injecting colours and styles such as chocolate brown, caramel, terracotta, sand, and creamy off-white can give your bathroom a more layered and inviting appeal. It doesn't have to stop at the walls and floors - choose plumbing, lighting and textured materials in soft, natural tones to really bring it all together.

Every colour and tone you dream of can be found at our MyChoice Design Studio. We can work with you to layer your bathroom with natural and softer tones that will leave a lasting mark on visiting friends and family.

Organic Elements

Are you looking to add some warmth to your bathroom? Natural wood is the way to go. Wood provides an organic element that a painted finish can't offer, resulting in a more prosperous and complexed palette for the bathroom. The best place to use wood to boost its warming effect on the ambience of your bathroom in 2023 is on your cabinetry and vanities. There is also room to play around with different wood finishes, such as darker, more saturated tones, that can enhance the richness and warmth of the space.

Frameless Mirrors

Frameless designs make mirror edges less noticeable, creating an illusion of openness and making them ideal for smaller bathrooms. Large, high-impact mirrors are on trend now, and adding a frameless edge only enhances the aesthetic. As an inclusion for our Gallery Collection of homes, the length of your frameless mirror can be adjusted to fit your bathroom design.

You can try different shapes to add a bit of flare or have a lengthier, horizontal frameless mirror that extend to each end the walls or wraps around corners.

Walk-In Shower

Unlike traditional enclosed showers, walk-in showers lend a spacious, open plan feel to the bathroom. Walk-in showers feature a glass screen and continuous tiling with water flowing away through a discreet drain. No need to worry about slippery floors either - the glass screen protects the rest of the space from splashes. This modern shower option allows you to create a more cohesive, quietly luxurious appeal in your bathroom and maintain your tiling preference throughout the room. Opt for rich, attractive tones like warm terracotta for a nature-inspired look, or bold black and white tiling for a classic, luxe atmosphere.
