Earlier this year, Sunshine Coast Lightning and Brighton Homes teamed up to launch the Rising Star Scholarship.
Created to support the next generation of Sunshine Coast athletes in pursuing their netball dreams, the Brighton Homes Rising Stars Scholarship recognises young athletes who demonstrate passion, commitment and potential.
Brighton Homes awarded five scholarships valued at $2,000 each, helping to ease the costs associated with representative netball.
Several of the incredible young athletes attended the 2026 Unitywater Lightning Cup, where they were presented with their scholarship awards.
Sunshine Coast Lightning CEO, Justin Pascoe, thanked Brighton Homes for their continued support of grassroots athletes in the local community.
“The team at Brighton Homes understands the value in investing in athletes as they develop from junior to senior netballers,” he said.
“Our Lightning community is full of incredible talent, and we are excited to help them in their journey.
“Thanks to everyone who applied for the scholarship; there were some amazing candidates throughout the process.
“We believe the five recipients of the inaugural Rising Stars Scholarship embody the values of this award.”
Brighton Homes Marketing Manager Danielle Quin-Conroy said they are delighted to support young Sunshine Coast athletes pursue their netball dreams.
“The Sunshine Coast is home to many talented young athletes, and we are proud to provide five promising netballers with scholarships to support their development both on and off the court.
