Supporting Young Lives with Youngcare

Brighton Homes is pleased to partner with Queensland based charity Youngcare. Initially signing on for three years of partnership in May 2019, the team at Brighton have decided to continue their support with this well aligned charity and to date, Brighton Homes has donated over $300,000 through a variety of fundraising initiatives.

Youngcare creates choice and independence for young people with disabilities by providing fully accessible and age-appropriate living spaces, equipment and home modifications. As one of Queensland’s leading home builders, we are thrilled to partner with such a well aligned charity. Brighton believe the partnership is a perfect fit, with Youngcare’s proceeds going towards housing for young people in Australia with high care needs.

Youngcare’s partnership with Brighton Homes will help Youngcare raise vital funds and awareness for the young Australians who are currently living in accommodation unsuitable for their age and type of care.

Brighton Homes is honoured to work with such an incredible charity and look forward to the ongoing partnership and exciting projects we have lined up with Youngcare.

Simpson Desert Challenge 2021

In May 2021, the Brighton Homes CEO participated in the Simpson Desert Challenge in support of Youngcare. Over nine days, he trekked more than 250km across the grueling Simpson Desert to raise much-needed funds and awareness for young people with high care needs. This trek was a daily mental and physical challenge, but it is one that had a profound impact on the lives of young people with high care needs and their loved ones. The completely isolated environment provided a striking reflection of the challenges that these young people face on a daily basis. Funds raised are helping Youngcare to:

  • Build more relevant and age-appropriate housing in Australia
  • Provide information and support via our Youngcare Connect service
  • Provide grants to young people with high care needs who are at risk of entering aged care to keep them at home, or transition them from aged care back into their community
  • Undertake world-first research in order to assist young people with high care needs

We want to thank everyone who has supported and helped spread awareness, especially our major sponsors Stoddart Group, BlueScope Steel, CarpetCall, Network Steel, Reece, Fisher & Paykel, Lovelight, ActronAir, Winning Commercial, Enigma, Stairmaster & Supaloc. Brighton Homes has raised a total of $243,500 with $120,000 of that donated by the MJH Group.

To date, Brighton has donated over $300,000 to Youngcare and is honoured to work with such an amazing charity and look forward to our ongoing partnership
